This course aims to provide trainees with the information necessary to carry out an effective Risk Assessment. Regardless of the size of business all employers are required by law to carry out a risk assessment at their place of work and to keep a written record of that risk assessment. The course aims to develop the knowledge and skills that are necessary for the trainee to carry out their own risk assessment.
There are 3 basic steps to Risk Assessment:
Identify the hazards.
Identify the level of risk for each hazard.
Identify the controls to be put in place to avoid or reduce the risk.
On completion of the course participants will be able to:
Understand the legal requirements to carry out a risk assessment.
List the 3 basic steps of a risk assessment.
Apply risk assessments to the workplace.
Evaluate the importance of the different controls.
Ensure all participants have a clear understanding of the risk assessment process and be able to effectively implement it and any related documentation.
