The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 includes the company vehicle as a place of work and states that ‘every employer shall ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of his or her employees’
Driving for work is one of the most dangerous activities that people do.

Prior to driving a company vehicle a driver should be assessed and given constructive feedback on best practice and safe driving techniques.

Course objectives :
To increase the drivers awareness.
Help to eliminate unsafe driving practices and improve driver attitudes.
Raise hazard perception levels and improving existing skills.
Contribute to the prevention of accidents

Course Programme includes :
The course content can be tailored to meet the needs of the company/organisation requirements. The course consists of a presentation and theory session which contains and interactive audio visual theory element of (40 min) duration followed by a 1 hour In-Vehicle session on a one to one basis with the driver and instructor. Each driver will be risk assessed on their driving skills.

Who should attend:

This course is suitable for new employee drivers of all types of vehicles – cars, vans, minibus, jeeps and trucks and for anyone who is interested in becoming a safer driver.


2 hrs. – 1 day depending on the number of trainees.


Completed driver risk assessment form.
GHSS Certificate of attendance.
